Aito is a joint venture between Huawei and the Chongqing Jinkang New Energy Automobile (operating under the Seres brand), the firms have been cooperating since 2020, the first fruit of their partnership was the installation of the Huawei media complex in the Seres SF5 crossover . The new Aito M5 is a product of a qualitatively higher level, all of its electronics are from Huawei.

The length of M5 is 4,770 mm, width is 1,930 mm and height of the M5 is 1,625 mm, respectively, with a wheelbase of 2,880 mm.

The novelty has a five-door station wagon with a falling roofline, that is, it belongs to the fashionable category of coupe-crossovers. The configuration of the side windows, the one-piece horizontal line of the rear lights and the plastic of the sidewalls of the Aito M5 resembles the German Porsche Macan . In front with a large air intake and “bulging” LED headlights – a clear nod to the Italian Lamborghini Urus .

The hybrid system includes a 1.5-liter petrol turbo engine with a capacity of 125 hp, it has no connection with the wheels and is used to recharge a block of lithium-ion batteries with a capacity of 40 kWh through the generator, which in turn power the electric motors (there are two of them, one per axis). The Aito M5 has a permanent full drive.

The power of the traction motors is 315 or 365 kW at the customer’s choice (428 or 496 hp, respectively). The batteries can be charged from an external network. A full tank of gasoline and a 100% charged battery provide the Aito M5 with a range of up to 1242 km. The average fuel consumption of the vehicle is only 0.8 l / 100 km.

The machine is equipped with a digital instrument panel with a screen diagonal of 10.4 inches, as well as a media complex with a curved display measuring 15.6 inches. Media runs on its own operating system HarmonyOS, with which you can synchronize almost any device – smartphones, tablet computers, laptops, smart watches, smart homes, etc.

Sales of the Aito M5 in China should begin in the first quarter of 2022, the price, depending on the configuration, will be 250-320 thousand yuan (= 39,585.00 -50,505.00 usd). The novelty will be produced at the facilities of Chongqing Jinkang New Energy Automobile.
