Honda Motor has held a preliminary presentation of the new, sixth generation, mid-size van Honda StepWGN. On this occasion, the company has revealed some information about him, a full-fledged premiere is scheduled for the spring of 2022.
Exterior of Honda StepWGN
In the new incarnation, the model has fundamentally changed from the point of view of the exterior: if the car of the fifth generation has a single-volume body and smooth shapes, then the sixth Honda StepWGN has a deliberately pronounced hood volume, straight lines and “clean” sidewalls.
The novelty will be offered in two styling versions – Air and Spada. They differ in front and “stern”, in particular: the shape of the bumpers and the radiator grill. The Air has a quieter exterior, the Spada has an enlarged grille with a “bold” chrome frame and more expressive bumpers.
Interior of Honda StepWGN
During the development of the interior, the designers and engineers were tasked with achieving a cozy, “home” atmosphere and offering maximum transformation opportunities. The second row seats are adjustable not only in the longitudinal direction, but also in the transverse direction.
The sliding range in the longitudinal direction is up to 865 mm, the seat located behind the driver has a folding ottoman that allows you to stretch and relax your legs.
On the third row, the seats are installed on a raised platform and have thick cushions – thus, it is comfortable even in the “gallery”, in addition, a good forward view is organized from the last seats.
The upholstery uses water and dirt-repellent artificial leather – convenient if there are small children in the family who climb onto the seats with their feet.
The new StepWGN will come with an 11.4-inch media display as standard, and there are also Honda Connect telecommunications services. Rear passengers will be offered a 15.6-inch roof screen. The dimension of the digital instrument panel is 10.2 inches.
At the same time, Honda was showing signature accessories from the Access line for the new StepWGN – stylish bumper and side moldings and sleek rims.
Honda Motor has not released any technical details about the new Honda StepWGN – they will be revealed closer to the start of sales.
Recall that the outgoing RP generation Honda StepWGN has been produced since 2015. It is offered with a 1.5 petrol turbo engine with 150 hp. (mates with CVT) as well as a hybrid system consisting of a 2.0-liter petrol engine, CVT and electric motor, with a combined output of 215 hp. The hybrid can only be front-wheel drive, while all-wheel drive is available for the petrol version. The car arrives in Europe in the form of a right-hand drive “beushka” from Japan.
