Lada e-Largus the first Electric arrives in 2024

Lada Largus the first Electric

Lada e-Largus will be the first electric, Lada. The Russian automotive industry may be seriously injured, due to international sanctions for the invasion of that country in Ukraine, but its work does not stop. In particular, there is talk of Lada, which has just presented the renderings of what will be its first electric car produced by the brand.

This is the Lada e-Largus, an electric version of the Largus van which, in turn, is based on the first generation Dacia Logan. Obviously, it is not a state-of-the-art element, since Lada does not have the current technology or resources of other companies. It has simply adapted to what it has and from there begins its exploration and design phase.

Within next year, the Lada brand will produce the first prototypes of the e-Largus, an electric-powered station wagon inspired by the Dacia Logan. Despite the problems caused by the war between Russia and Ukraine, AvtoVAZ is trying to restart by proposing a new car that will become, in fact, the first electric of the Lada brand. It will be called e-Largus and, inspired by the aesthetics of the well-known Dacia Logan, it will boast a range characterized by a passenger version and a commercial version for freight transport with variable capacity battery packs in order to adapt to the most varied types of use.

As you can also see by scrolling through the photos in the gallery, the Lada e-Largus will be distinguished from the respective variant with an internal combustion engine by the presence of the closed front grille and by numerous details in electric blue, which will embellish the color of the bodywork on the elements of the ‘front, on the rear-view mirrors and in the lower part of the doors. The arrival on the market? Not before 2024, anticipated next year by the first prototypes that will carry out road tests.

There is already a prototype that shows the first lines of this truck that are mounted on the Renault-Dacia B0 platform, which was launched in 2004 and supports models such as the first generation Dacia Duster, Nissan Kicks, Mahindra Verito Vibe, and Lada Xray. The architecture is largely unchanged for the electric Largus and the batteries are said to be installed on the floor. Fast charging via a CCS port is possible.

Lada did not reveal the technical specifications of the e-Largus, although Russian media reports that it will be offered in five- and seven-seat passenger versions, as well as the option with a cargo panel. According to some sources, the range between two charges could reach up to 400 kilometers, although this number is not official and seems too optimistic considering the old ICE platform.

Lada has officially confirmed that next year it will launch a fleet of prototypes for validation tests before it is ready to go into production. However, at the moment, it is unknown when the e-Largus will hit the assembly lines. Taking into account the few details revealed by the brand, it would not be surprising that its market launch is scheduled for 2024.
