Exterior of Renault Megane

The exterior design effectively evolves the recent stylistic features of the French house: fluid and modern lines, full LED front and rear headlights, high waistline, and reduced side windows. The generous wheel arches can accommodate tires up to 20 inches in diameter. The overall length of the car is limited to just 421 cm, while the wheelbase has a truly extraordinary extension: a good 270 cm. These characteristics are made possible by the new CMF-EV platform, created exclusively to give life to electric-powered vehicles.

Interiors of Renault Megane

Once aboard the new Megane E-Tech, the feeling of space is truly amazing, worthy of a much larger car. The attention is catalyzed by the OpenR dashboard, characterized by the original inverted “L” shape. The system consists of the full digital 12.3-inch driver display in front of the driver’s eyes and a touch-sensitive 12-inch vertically developing multimedia display. Both screens are characterized by excellent definition and brightness, in order to make them perfectly usable even on the sunniest days.

Two power steps

As for the engines, Megane E-Tech Electric is coming with two variants of a new latest generation electric powertrain. This engine weighs just 145 kg including transmission, which is 10% less than the engine fitted by the Renault Zoe. The first version delivers 96 kW, or 130 horsepower, and a maximum torque of 250 Nm. The more powerful variant delivers 160 kW, equal to 218 horsepower and 300 Nm of maximum torque. Megane E-Tech offers all the pleasure of electric driving, with a smooth and linear delivery. Sprinting from 0 to 100 km / h takes 7.4 seconds.

Battery Details

The result of a new project, the Megane E-Tech battery has a weight of 395 kg. Designed to integrate seamlessly into the CMF-EV platform, it is the thinnest battery on the market as it is only 110mm thick (1,960mm long and 1,450mm wide), which is 40% less than ZOE’s battery. It directly contributes to reducing the vehicle height to 1.50 meters. It is available in 40 or 60 kWh versions. the first guarantees a WLTP range of 300 km, the second reaches a radius of 470 km (always WLTP). Numbers of sure interest, which make Megane E-Tech able to face long journeys without anxiety of range
