In Mexico, KIA Motors is set to introduce the latest addition to its lineup, the KIA K3 Fastback compact sedan. This stylish vehicle offers the option of either a 1.6-liter or 2.0-liter powertrain, with a 1.4-liter engine anticipated for future release. Latin American customers can expect to find the K3 Fastback in showrooms by the fourth quarter of 2023.
It is introducing the KIA K3, characterized by a design concept titled “Elevating the Subcompact Car Realm,” drawing inspiration from crossover aesthetics. Kia envisions the KIA K3 as an entry-level vehicle that delivers a gratifying driving encounter akin to more premium segments. Emphasizing a roomy and cozy interior equipped with cutting-edge safety technologies, the K3 is tailored to cater to the demands of subcompact sedan enthusiasts.

With a design centered on modernity, the vehicle boasts an elegant 4-door configuration accentuated by its sleek sloping fastback style. The front fascia preserves the distinctive Korean design ethos, featuring an elongated and slender Tiger Nose front grille, complemented by gracefully curved wingback headlights that seamlessly align with the DRL lights, creating a harmonious visual composition. The lower section is adorned with a sizable black air intake, further enhancing the car’s captivating aesthetic.
The Kia K3 is enhancing the car’s profile, you’ll find black wheel arches seamlessly integrated into the side design. In the realm of safety systems, despite its compact size, the KIA k3 comes fully equipped with a comprehensive array, including six airbags, electronic stability control, ABS, automatic emergency braking and warning systems, blind spot detection, rear collision warning, and a lane-keeping assistance system.
Powertrain Information
Regarding its powertrain, the KIA K3 will present a selection of three engine choices:
Firstly, a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder gasoline engine generates 121 horsepower. The transmission options encompass a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic.
Secondly, a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder gasoline engine producing 150 horsepower, expertly paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission that includes shift paddles, notably available in the K3 GT-Line model.
Lastly, an additional 1.4-liter gasoline engine, geared primarily towards international markets, though specific technical specifications for this variant are currently undisclosed.
