New BMW X5 M: the sporty SUV gets a makeover

BMW X5 M will come to market with new lines at the front and the iDrive 8 infotainment system. The acclaimed twin-turbo V8 engine will still work under the hood.

2022 got off to a particularly good start at BMW . The German house has already announced several new features, but it does not stop there and is also working on the updated version of the X5 M.

BMW X5 M: what will the new version look like

BMW X5 M is the German SUV with generous performance, as well as its dimensions. Now it is preparing to receive a decisive restyling that will affect the look and beyond. No official news has arrived from the parent company, but spy photos are circulating online (taken by Car Scoop colleagues) that allow us to analyze how the specimen of the near future will be.

The eye immediately falls on the new grille of reduced dimensions compared to the current model as well as the optical group with smaller headlights. On the contrary, the bumper has been enlarged and has a more muscular look. The car in the photo has the classic stickers to camouflage the details, but they are enough to make it clear that new air intakes will be inserted in the lower part. The rear, in particular with regard to headlights and bumpers.

The SUV will also be retouched in its interior. The interventions will concern the materials chosen for the upholstery and the infotainment system which should be the iDrive 8 already present on the iX and X5, managed by a similar large central display .

The new BMW X5 M will again be powered by the 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine capable of delivering up to 625 hp of maximum power and 750 Nm of maximum torque. The final version of the car is expected at the turn of 2023.
