GMC today revealed the next-generation GMC Canyon 2023 lineup, including the first 2023 Canyon AT4X. new, the new generation of Canyon is built from the ground up to conquer any terrain.
Building on the success of the AT4, the AT4X sub-brand is the ultimate expression of GMC’s commitment to great off-road capability. First introduced on the 2022 Sierra, the AT4X model has quickly become synonymous with solid off-road credibility. Inspired by the Canyon AT4 concept first introduced in 2021, the Canyon AT4X features a factory-raised, ultra-wide track to increase performance and off-road capability.2023 GMC Canyon will offer, a truck that projects to have tall dimensions, great off-road characteristics, and driving force.
With intense red color, the photograph of the North American manufacturer reveals a striking design of the headlights, which are embedded in a kind of aesthetic “mini-path” developed by the company, which could perfectly meet aerodynamic characteristics. Precisely, that section is enhanced by a prominent line located on the sides of the hood, firstly to generate lift in the truck and secondly to divert airflow to the rest of the 2023 GMC Canyon.
The front grille is made up of what appears to be a grid subdivided into 3-by-3 rows, accompanied by a rectangular arch-shaped support bar, with LED lights in the lower part of the body.
The North American company has confirmed that the truck will carry a version of the AT4X package, first introduced on the 2022 GMC Sierra and listed by General Motors. The height of the vehicle with respect to the ground denotes the space necessary to face complicated roads, where the safest thing is that the tires have four-wheel drive to facilitate travel on extreme surfaces without losing grip (sand, stones, rocks, mud).
The 2023 GMC Canyon will be the first midsize truck on the market to offer a segment-first set of key features, including:
Available underbody cameras, including front and rear under-vehicle views
Head Up Display available
Fully digital Driver Information Center
Wireless compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Integrated Google Available (Google Automotive Services)
Returning to the less “extreme” models, the 2023 GMC Canyon receives a head-up display, an 11.3” screen, and an 8 or 11” digital dashboard; Bose sound system from the AT4 model, and a complete suite of ADAS assistance, with optional adaptive cruise control.
All models boast a ground clearance of 24cm and wireless Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. The Denali model is the most “opulent”, with a panoramic roof, leather interior with wood inserts on the dashboard, and ventilated and heated seats. For the AT4X model, things take a more sinister tone, combining obsidian black and ceramic white.
Ignoring the AT4X Edition 1’s skyrocketing price tag, the 2023 GMC Canyon would start at around $42,000. Price is also somewhat high, considering that premium crossovers from Audi, Mercedes-Benz, or BMW are around 35-45,000 USD. It is true that it is a somewhat crazy comparison, but it is the same GMC that positions the Canyon as a luxury truck, which at the end of the day will have a more urban than adventurous use.
