The New 2021 Kia Sportage GT Line – European Specific Version

The Kia Sportage (2021) is showing its new design for the first time at the IAA Mobility in Munich . The market launch is planned for the beginning of 2022. There is still no information on the trailer load. We know that about the price and the popular GT-Line equipment lines.

After around six years of construction, the Kia gets Sportage A successor in 2021. The model will celebrate its premiere at the IAA Mobility in Munich (September 7th to 12th). The “Opposites United” design concept, which premiered with the Kia EV6, is also used by Kia for the Sportage. However, it shows a very distinct note here.

Exterior Details Of Kia

The Sportage has boomerang-shaped headlights that form the edge of the black tiger nose in the lower area. The outward drawn headlight ends make the Sportage appear brawny and wide. A slightly sloping roof and a rising shoulder line give the SUV dynamism. A trim strip extends into the discreet roof spoiler. The rear lights are located under the rear window and are connected by a narrow bar.

The Kia Sportage (2021) will continue to be offered in the popular GT line. Here, a color-contrasting roof and a black and white lined interior provide additional momentum. It is not yet known whether there will be a Black Edition and Edition 7 again. Official photos of the Kia Sportage X-Line confirm a new variant – but it has not yet been communicated whether this will also come to Europe.

Interior Details Of Kia

Kia has significantly upgraded the interior of the compact SUV. A curved glass panel extends across the dashboard and unites a 12.3-inch-Touchscreen with a digital instrument panel of the same size. A separate control element with physical buttons sits above the center console, which also houses switches and buttons.

Over-the-air map updates, online services with app support and cloud-based online navigation are all part of the functionality of the Kia Sportage (2021). The trunk of the Sportage holds 591 to 1780 liters – with the hybrid models it should be a little less. Kia has not yet announced how high the trailer load will be.

Engine Details Of Kia Sportage

Since the Kia Sportage (2021) shares the technology with the recently introduced Hyundai Tucson, its range of engines will also be increasingly electrified. The range includes mild (136, 150, 180 hp), full (230 hp) and a plug-in hybrid. There are also classic petrol engines (150, 180 hp) and diesel (115, 136 hp).

A six-speed manual gearbox and a seven-speed dual clutch transmission are available as transmissions. As a plug-in hybrid with 265 hp, the top model advances into unprecedented levels of performance. Thanks to an e-handling system, the steering should be more dynamic and agile by providing electronic support for the: the driver. The high-tech features also include the latest generation of electronic damper control.

This should allow the dampers to adapt to the road surface in real time and enable more comfortable and safer driving. If you order an all-wheel drive version, the Sportage has a new all-terrain mode. There is no price yet, it should be fixed by the market launch in early 2022 at the latest. The predecessor is in the price list from 22,890 euros (as of September 2021). Typically Kia is the manufacturer’s guarantee of seven years, from which the new Sportage will not be excluded, as expected.
