And we want to talk about the cockpit today. In fact, a series of new images are available online that show some more details. The Renault technicians have neglected nothing on the new Austral : from the design to the choice of materials, everything has been designed to allow passengers to be in an elegantly modern environment with a feeling of high-end comfort.
To achieve the desired level of quality on the new Renault Austral 2022, no compromises were made even in terms of workmanship. The upper part of the dashboard has an all new minimalist design with soft touch upholstery . Everything is embellished with a line of LED lights that redefines spaces.
In the lower part there is a wooden panel treated with the Japanese maki-e technique , also used in the interior design of homes and offices which consists in applying thin layers of metallic pigments to the wood to create a unique look and maintain the feeling the grain and texture of the wood.
Finally, an elegant satin chrome frame delicately wraps the horizontal grille of the air intake. Just like the dashboard, the top of the front and rear door panels have that soft feel and feature the same decoration and finish. The fabrics fade slightly from black to light gray and combine with fine-grained synthetic leather for an elegant touch.
The center console incorporates a hand rest with satin chrome finishes . The design was inspired by the world of airplanes and haute horology. As for the engines, we know that Austral will not have diesel engines, but will mark the debut of the new generation full hybrid E-Tech unit that will flank the 1.2 and 1.3 turbo petrol mild hybrid variants.
