DS 9 E-Tense is one of the brands that has turned the most to electrification in recent years. It had it easy because its model range is small, which is why it is offering a good number of plug-in and electric hybrids , with the promise of being fully electric by 2024 . And their flagship could not be without options to choose from. The arrival of the DS 9 E-Tense 250 is an intermediate step between the two plug-in hybrids that were offered, in addition to a traditional combustion one.
Exterior and Interior of DS 9 E-Tense
Precisely halfway between the DS 9 E-Tense 225 and the powerful DS 9 E-Tense 360 4 × 4, this model is located that uses a similar configuration. It uses the 2.0-liter four-cylinder PureTech gasoline engine (it already develops 200 hp on its own), linked to an 80 kW electrical mechanism. The sum gives that joint power of 250 CV that gives it its name. It maintains the eight-speed automatic transmission as the only option and it is a front-wheel drive vehicle, only the most powerful all-wheel drive will be.
The positive part is that it has a new 15.6 kWh lithium-ion battery , more powerful than the one that is mounted on the E-Tense 225 (11.9 kWh) and maintaining the same empty weight. Thanks to this element, it manages to develop an electric range of 61 kilometers in the WLTP combined cycle, a figure that could amount to 70 kilometers in the urban cycle. The battery charges in 2 hours and 23 minutes on a 7.4 kW Wallbox and allows it to be really efficient.
In the data sheet of the DS 9 E-Tense 250 we see data as significant as the approved consumption of 1.1 l / 100km or CO2 emissions of 26 g / km . As if that were not enough, this example accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 8.1 seconds and its maximum speed is 240 km / h (135 km / h in electric mode). As we already saw when we tested it, the equipment lines have significant differences. With the Performance Line + there is a sportier atmosphere thanks to the 19-inch wheels, the glossy black grille, chrome badges or the interior with black Alcantara. The Rivoli + takes on a more distinguished air and allows you to choose three different color settings for the interior. There is no shortage of outstanding equipment items such as the Focal Electra 515 W sound system, the DS Drive Assist, the DS Night Vision or the DS Active Scan Suspension.
