On display from 12 to 21 February at the Chicago Motor Show, this special Ford GT is inspired by the AM GT-1, an experimental version of the very first GT40.
Another Heritage Edition , this time even more special than the one we presented to you last summer: the Blue Oval House cares a lot about its winning past in the racing world and for this reason has recently presented a very special Ford GT that celebrates the first steps of one of motorsport’s historic cars – the GT40.

Its full name is Ford GT Alan Mann Heritage Edition and with its special coloring it pays homage to the AM GT-1 , an experimental prototype built by the Alan Mann Racing racing department which used the starting point of the well-known GT40 MK1, to then become a in turn, a source of inspiration for the subsequent GT40 MK2 brought to the track (among others) by Bruce McLaren and Ken Miles, taking the top three places in the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The chosen livery is colored red with specific graphics in Frozen White and in a golden color , to which is added the striking number # 16 positioned on the side and on the bonnet in the image and likeness of the original prototype. The equipment, of course, also includes 20 ”carbon rims , the Brembo braking system with black calipers and an aerodynamic package with glossy carbon finishes for the front splitter, rear diffuser and engine air intakes.

Even the passenger compartment has been customized down to the smallest detail: the sports seats have carbon shells and Alcantara upholstery with red stitching, a combination also taken up on the dashboard for the instrumentation where the gear shift paddles on the steering wheel stand out in bright red.
The Ford GT Alan Mann Heritage Edition will be a “one-off” soon on display from 12 to 21 February at the Chicago Motor Show , where it will also be joined by one of the original units of the British team.
