Designed specifically to meet the demands of the Indian market, the seven-seater Jeep Meridian takes its cue from the Brazilian Commander.
While in Europe the latest novelty presented in chronological order is the Grand Cherokee in the 4xe version , India is preparing to receive what will soon become its reference point for the SUV segment: it is called Jeep Meridian and, on balance , shows remarkable similarities with the Commander , also with seven seats but destined for the South American market.

Based on the well-tested Compass platform , the Jeep Meridian looks like a car with an elongated wheelbase (2,794 mm for a total length of 4,769 meters) capable of accommodating three rows of seats , as well as a load capacity of at least 230 liters that passes immediately to over 660 if you decide to knock down the last two seats in the rear of the cockpit.
At the moment the Indian division of the Jeep has not provided any other official information on this car: we know that its name derives from the “Meridian 77” road that crosses the country and that a prototype, specially camouflaged, was not only used for a series of test lasting 54 hours (for 3250 km), but it was also included in the presentation teaser video that you can also watch below.
