New 2022 Genesis G70 Shooting Brake revealed

The Koreans have unveiled the Genesis G70 Shooting Brake (2021). After the brand’s launch in Germany, the sporty station wagon will soon expand the range.

In the course of the Germany launch in summer 2021, the Koreans unveiled the Genesis G70 Shooting Brake (2021). The premium brand from the Hyundai Group is said to be poaching the latest model in the market from VW Arteon and Mercedes CLA Shooting Brake. In any case, the plan could work optically. The flowing, organic lines of the Genesis G70 come into their own when used as a shooting brake.

Details of Genesis G70

The dominant pentagonal grill at the front is a real eye-catcher. As are the two-part lights at the front and rear. Even if the Genesis G70 Shooting Brake (2021) with its large trunk lid swallows 40 percent more luggage than the sedan. It is more lifestyle-oriented than practical.

The station wagon is make with little blood – in part of the body. It differs from the original G70 only by its own rear fenders, a  roof, and a tailgate. The rear doors are completely unified – this is rare, usually, the station wagons have original ones. 

The stern of the G70 station wagon looks very elegant – thanks to the large tilt of the rear pillars. and a huge panoramic glass in the area with an approach to the sidewalls.

The length, width, and height of the Shooting Break are exactly the same. As those of the sedan: 4685, 1850, and 1400 mm, respectively. The wheelbase is also keep at its original 2835 mm. The trunk volume has not changed – 330 liters. The rear seat backrest folds down in a 40:20:40 ratio.

There is no information on the engines yet, but, probably, there is complete unification with the sedan. That is, the model will be offering a range of gasoline turbo engines with a volume of 2.0. and 3.3 liters, as well as a 2.2-liter turbodiesel.
