Hyundai Motor has begun testing the next generation Hyundai Solaris (Hyundai Accent) on public roads. While the car body is completely disguised, but some conclusions can already be drawn.
Note that the pictures do not show Solaris in its pure form, but Verna or Accent: under such names, the closest relatives of Solaris are sold in different markets. In particular, Verna for China in the current generation is almost completely unified with the European sedan in terms of body, but it has different lighting equipment, bumpers and trunk lid, not to mention the difference in the cabin and engine range. It is possible that a similar level of differences will be preserved in the next generation.
Features of Hyundai Accent
In some ways, the Verna / Hyundai Accent prototype resembles its older brother, the seventh generation Hyundai Elantra . This is hinted at by the rear roof pillar and lights. Whether the equally complex body plastic with numerous edges and stampings will appear on the budget sedan is still a question.
Little is known about the technical equipment. Rumor has it that in some markets the car is planned to be equipped with 1.5-liter gasoline and diesel engines with mild hybrid technology.
The timing of the appearance of Verna / Accent / Solaris is not called. With the change of generations for Russia, the car will continue to be produced at the company’s plant in St. Petersburg.
