Kia announced the imminent start of sales in Europe of the new generation Kia Sportage compact crossover NQ5 – on this occasion, the company disclosed the price of the car in one of the trim levels.

In his native Korea, the new Kia Sportage was released in July 2021 . In Europe, they will offer a global version of the model – 4660 mm long and with a wheelbase of 2755 mm. There is also an option for the EU, which is much shorter – 4515 and 2680 mm, respectively.
Compared to the Sportage of the outgoing QL generation, the “global” NQ5 has an overall length of 175 mm and the distance between the axles of the wheels – by 85 mm.
In the potentially most popular configuration with a 2.0-liter G4NL-5 petrol engine with a capacity of 150 hp, a 6-speed automatic transmission, front-wheel drive and in the Comfort configuration, the new Sportage will cost from 31,360.45Â usd in Europe. But there is a cheaper option – with a manual transmission.
The Comfort version includes LED headlights, a reversing camera, rear parking sensors, alloy wheels with R17 tires, dual-zone climate control, an eight-inch multimedia system and wireless access to Apple Carplay / Android Auto. The proprietary package “Warm Options”, developed by Kia, taking into account the needs of the Russian market, for the Comfort configuration includes heated windscreen washer nozzles, front and rear seats, steering wheel, and an additional electric interior heater.
In addition to the standard, they will also offer an “off-road” version with impact- resistant bumper pads and 19-inch wheels, follows from the section dedicated to the model on the kia.ru website .
In addition to the 2.0-liter engine, a 2.5-liter G4KN-5 petrol with 190 hp will also be available for the new Sportage in Europe.
Sportage sales in Europe will start at the beginning of 2022. All configurations and a full price list will be revealed in a couple of weeks.
The production of the new Kia Sportage for Europe will first be carried out at Avtotor’s facilities in Kaliningrad, then a full-cycle production will be organized at the former GM plant in Shushary (St. Petersburg) .
