Volkswagen has circulated design sketches for the next (second) generation Amarok mid-size off-road pickup.
The car is being created in partnership with Ford Motor, so it will be unified with the new-generation Ranger, which was released in November , in terms of the frame chassis and the cab frame .

Judging by the drawings, all the external body panels, block headlights and taillights of the new Amarok are their own; in terms of design, the car has nothing in common with the Ranger. In addition, Volkswagen will get its own front panel, although the element-wise interchangeability with Ford in the interior will obviously be wide.
The new Amarok will be offered in a version with a two-row cab, it is not known whether a “one-and-a-half” modification is planned.
The range of engines should be borrowed from the Ranger. For him, we recall, they are going to offer three diesel and one gasoline unit. Simple versions will receive a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbodiesel in two power options. One step higher in the hierarchy is the 3.0-liter V6 turbo engine. For fans of gasoline engines, the 2.3-liter unit of the EcoBoost family is addressed.
The presentation of this car is scheduled for early 2022.
Recall that the outgoing Volkswagen has been produced since 2010 , this is a completely Volkswagen brainchild. The model left the EU market in 2020, Russia – in the spring of 2021 . The car is now only offered in Latin America and Africa. For 11 years of production, the first Amarok has sold more than 800 thousand copies – more than 70 thousand every year.
